My Personal Guide to Travelling in Europe

Sforza Castle

Milan was the last city I visited while on this trip so we only got to spend one day here. Despite this, we were still able to see a lot. We got to visit the Sforza Castle that was built in the 14th century. Although it was once home to some of Italy's royals, it now functions as a museum ("Sforza Castle").

Milan is known for being the fashion capital of Italy and is filled with people constantly running around going from place to place. I found this to be a big contrast from other big cities in Europe, since everyone always looks like they're in no rush and have all the time in the world.

Duomo of Milan

After seeing the castle, we were brought on a tour of the Piazza del Duomo of Milan, which is in the main square. Here is where you'll find the Duomo of Milan, which is one of the largest cathedrals in Italy. It might be hard to believe, but this cathedral took almost 600 years to complete! Galleria

Also located in the Piazza del Duomo is the Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele II. Housed in this stunning building are many of the first designer stores ever, like the first ever Prada store. The Galleria is filled with beautiful, expensive cafes that only the elite eat at. Although many people only think of fashion when they think of Milan, you cannot look past the stunning gothic architecture and history that surrounds you while visiting.
