My Personal Guide to Travelling in Europe

The Rock of Gibraltar

Gibraltar is a British territory on the southern tip of Spain. Everyone who lives there is considered a British citizen and many come over from England to work as tour guides! The land is dominated by the rock of Gibraltar that is filled with funky, man made caves as well as the famous tailess monkeys that call Gibraltar home. They are called Barbary Macaques and they are the only species of wild monkey that is native to Europe!

The British territory is located at the southern tip of Spain, so close to North Africa, that on a sunny day with clear skies, you would be able to see the port at Tangier in Morocco. It would only take you about an hour by ferry from a port in southern Spain to the port at Tangier. While up on the rock of Gibraltar, you'll have stunning views on all sides and you'll be able to see some of the home that are built right in the side of the rock.

If you get hungry, you'll have to stop for some authentic fish and chips. I've never been to England, but I'd imagine it doesn't get much better than what they have in this British territory. As I mentioned before, there are many British citizens who have come over to work in this territory, so not only do you get to see the Spanish influence, you also get to experience some authentic English food and activities!
